# ChatGPT agent playbooks

ChatGPT agent was the agent mode in OpenAI's ChatGPT that took over from Operator. OpenAI's current docs no longer name it, and several guides report that ChatGPT Work replaced it in mid-2026. Today the same browser and form jobs run through Work, its cloud browser, the browser extension and Computer Use.

## Good at

- Clicking, typing and reading pages in a built-in browser or a cloud browser
- Acting in your own signed-in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera or Vivaldi through the browser extension
- Operating desktop apps that have no plugin, through Computer Use on macOS and Windows

## Limits

- It asks before each new website by default, and before sensitive steps such as purchases or deleting data
- The built-in browser cannot automate file uploads, and some sites block it with CAPTCHAs
- Cloud browser sign-in is not available for Enterprise or Edu workspaces
- Computer Use cannot approve security prompts or act as an administrator
