# Claude in Chrome playbooks

Claude in Chrome is Anthropic's extension for Google Chrome. It reads the page you are signed in to, then clicks, types, navigates and fills forms for you from a side panel. People use it for web tools that have no API, for background tasks across several tabs, and with Claude Code to test websites.

## Good at

- Working in sites where you are already logged in, such as admin consoles, portals and internal tools
- Repeating browser jobs through saved shortcuts and daily, weekly or monthly scheduled tasks
- Working across several tabs that you drag into its tab group
- Reading console errors, network requests and page state when Claude Code tests a site

## Limits

- It works only in desktop Google Chrome, not other Chromium browsers or mobile
- Anthropic advises against using it for banking, health records, passwords and financial transactions
- Pages can hide instructions that try to redirect it, and Anthropic says its defenses are not foolproof
- Background tasks run only while Chrome is open, and local file work needs the desktop app connected
