# Lovable playbooks

Lovable is an app builder that turns plain-language prompts into full web apps with a frontend, backend, database and sign-in. Lovable hosts the app and adds a built-in backend called Lovable Cloud. People use it for internal tools, SaaS prototypes, dashboards and marketing sites, and can sync the code to GitHub.

- Vendor: Lovable
- Kind: coding-agent
- Surfaces: web, desktop, mobile, slack
- Connects: Chat connectors attach remote MCP servers, including custom ones on all plans, as context while you build. App connectors give the published app access to tools like Slack or HubSpot. Workspace skills are markdown playbooks. A Lovable MCP server lets other agents drive Lovable.

## Good at

- Building a working web app with a database and user sign-in from a prompt
- Checking its own work in a remote browser by clicking through flows at phone, tablet and desktop sizes
- Syncing code to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket so developers can take over

## Limits

- It builds web apps. Its browser tests cannot use canvas tools and are unreliable with drag-and-drop and complex upload widgets.
- Signed-in browser tests need the built-in Cloud backend, so apps on an external Supabase project or another auth provider get only public pages tested.
- Building spends credits from one pool shared by the whole workspace.
