# Perplexity Comet playbooks

Comet is a Chromium-based web browser from Perplexity with a built-in assistant. The Comet Assistant sits in a side panel, reads the page you are on and can click, type and fill forms for you. People use it to summarize tabs, handle email and calendar, compare products and run multi-step web tasks.

- Vendor: Perplexity AI
- Kind: browser-agent
- Surfaces: desktop, mobile, browser
- Connects: The assistant works inside the Comet browser with your own sessions. It supports most Chrome extensions and a Gmail and Google Calendar connector. Admins can set per-domain rules for browser control, read only or no access.

## Good at

- Questions about the open page or other tabs you mention with @
- Supervised web tasks such as filling forms or building a shopping cart for you to review
- Email and calendar work once Gmail and Google Calendar are connected

## Limits

- By default the assistant asks you to confirm actions. An enterprise admin can switch on an always allow mode, which removes that check.

- Perplexity's own advice frames automation as work done under your supervision, so stay with it on checkout and other sensitive steps.
- It acts in your logged-in browser, so a mistake can touch your real accounts.
